            Doug,

            Did you login?

Try this link: Snow support, login and then search for api.

            Hope this works for you.

I did log in. As a matter of fact I signed up for an account. The link brings me to a cheery “Welcome Doug, How can we help?” so that means I’m logged in (or it calls everyone Doug). No results.

Here’s the url I get sent to after typing API and clicking search:

                https:// snowprod.service-now.com/support?id=search&q=API

/I had to add some spaces so it wouldn’t convert it to the page title here in the forum.

            Hello

Thank you for the hint. It is not always easy to figure out where to look.

I have the documentation and we will see how we can apply.

            Thanks

              Hi

I am looking for the latest documentation around the SLM API and can see the following on the Support portal

              User guide (dated 16/05/2017)

              API User Guide 8.1

              Technical Reference Document (dated 12/12/2016)

              Tech Ref 8.0.08

Are these latest API documentation available?

The API is currently version 8.3.x, and I am wondering how much might have changed since they were published?

Hi Stuart, I am getting this message when I click on the links you’ve mentioned – “You do not have sufficient privileges to access this knowledge item”.

Are these latest versions? I am new to SNOW API, so asking. Can you tell why I am getting this message. I am logged in, though.

                      Good day Inderjeet,

the access to our documentation is restricted to our customers and partners, and as I see you’re using a personal email account this is why you cannot access our resources.

If you are a Snow customer or partner, please be sure to register with your company account, and the access to the files will be granted automatically.

I hope this clarifies your question.

                      Best regards

                      Ester Memoli

                              Thanks for checking, Inderjeet.

As I see several records related to your company (covering many countries), can you please tell me the name of the Snow Account Manager that follows you?

So I can verify directly with him/her your account and check the missing rights, if any.

                              Thanks in advance

                              Best regards,

Both links to docs in Stuart’s post lead me to a page with url starting with

                        snowprod.service-now.com/support?id=kb_article_view ……..

The page shows an image of a large snowy landscape, but with no document content or links.

The top menu bar shows my name in the top right corner, so I know I’m logged in.

Can anyone provide links to these docs that work for any logged in usert? Or alternatively clear instructions on what to search for, since the original answer to search for “API” gives me the same “No results” that Doug experienced.

I am particularly interested in a doc that lists API calls with parameters and return types, if such a doc exists.

                        Thanks

                        John

reesjo, you’re not the only one to have struggled to find this… So a few weeks back I posted the Web API user guide here on the community, you can find it here.

I hope that helps – it should at least get you started.

                            Regards, David

Thank you DavidHobbs . That doc is a great start. ((This support site is the most difficult site I have ever had the misfortune to search on. Particularly when looking for the primary official docs.))

Do you know if there is also a API Reference doc that lists all APIs, and possibly with examples? Or is the only reference the dynamic one I get when navigating to “YourSNOWServer/api” ?

                                Thanks

                                    Hi reesjo,

I normally use the API itself for documentation – although I’m not an expert at using the Snow API…

When you navigate the API as html there’s quite a lot of information there. Perhaps the “Data Contract Reference” at /api/help/contracts/ might help you?

                                    Regards, David
